How a Bellini…

Can be nothing but trouble. It’s funny how a simple mixture of good friends, great Bellini’s, and lack of or low amounts of food can make apologizing a new sport.

Okay I want to start this story out by saying: DON”T JUDGE ME! :) I work hard, I play hard and by God, I’m going to party hard. What fun is a party if you’re going to be a wall flower? Well maybe there’s something to be said for restraint. This story isn’t going to be long, mainly because I don’t want to embarrass myself with details, but mostly because I don’t remember A LOT of them.

My wonderful friend and family, who will be referred to as UM, was kind enough to invite me over for what, if I remember correctly, was a post xmas party on or around the 26th. Having been elated at the invite, I was glad to come and enjoy a great night out (though it started at 1 pm) with great friends and people I consider family. UM had a wonderful spread of food for all of us to enjoy. Funny enough, although I thought I ate a lot of food, I managed to eat very little between each glass of frozen Bellini.

Bellini

THE MIX:

1 medium ripe, peeled and pureed peach
4 – 6 oz Champagne
OR
6 oz Champagne
1 oz peach schnapps
My personal Favorite
2 oz of Peach Nectar
4 oz Champagne
1 oz peach schnapps

GLASS: Champagne Flute

MIX STYLE: Build; However, I prefer to make this a frozen drink, so Blend

Note to self: Too much Champagne and not enough food will cause you to black out.
The party started off great, and my best friend (UM’s niece) and I decided it was going to be a Bellini marathon (since then we’ve both sworn off excessive champagne drinking). To make a long story short (again very little recall on the facts), I was blitzed by 7pm probably, at least that’s when I was driven home by one of my close friends (this information was supplied to me since by now it was “lights on, no one home”).
By 1 am I had woken up in my very own bed praying to GOD that my car was not in my parking spot and having this feeling that I needed to apologize to my entire cellphone listing, just to cover my bases. The next day’s walk of shame to get my car from UM’s house was basically an embarrassment of monumental proportions. It’s a testament to him that he still talks to me and relies on me for help.
Needless to say after being given many facts of the night, which I won’t bore you with, I helped UM clean up his house to show how sorry I was. Did I mention this was a weekday party, so I still had to go to work?
I’d have to say the most embarrassing moment really came days later when I was out for drinks with my best friend and her mom and was told that I groped my best friend’s mom. Whether or not this was intentional or purely an accident? Well those brain cells are dead so I’ll never really know.

I’ll just end it on that note.
